To all the people that have “Liked” this comic, please leave a comment as to why you have picked this strip out of all the others in this series to “Like.” I’d be interested to know what it is about it that makes it so special.

The reason as to why I like this particular strip is basically because I see similarities to my own childhood, and it reminds me of my thoughts and emotions at that time. When you’re able to see yourself in something it becomes all the more meaningful, I guess. (And maybe it’s just nice to see that I wasn’t the only one in that kind of situation?)
Great! Thanks for your input.
Man, I feel for ya. I was the only kid born north of the Mason-Dixon line attending my elementary school in rural Florida. Even the teachers called me “The Yank” when they thought I was out of earshot. Couple into the fact that my sense of style came from Nick At Night’s Leave It To Beaver, and I got bullied by just about everyone.
I consider myself lucky that my career Marine grandfather decided to take matters into his own hands when I was eight and teach me how to fight. I ended up getting beat up by my father more often than the kids in the schoolyard for “causing trouble,” what with not being a good ole’ boy, but it was worth it. Most of the bullies are dead (by accidents completely unrelated to me, I swear) and Dad ended up with several broken bones when he last laid a finger one me and I was finally old enough to live on my own. All said and done, I’m free!
Hope you are too.
